Randolph County Court Docket Basics
A docket is the court's running index of case activity. Each entry can identify a filing date, event, party, setting, order, judgment, financial posting, or court action. AlaCourt calls this chronology the case action summary. A docket may tell a reader that a motion was filed or an order entered. The full case record holds the actual motion, signed order, pleadings, attachments, and other available documents.
Randolph County is in Alabama's Fifth Judicial Circuit. Circuit Court dockets include felony, major civil, domestic, and other general-jurisdiction cases. District Court dockets cover misdemeanors, preliminary felony steps, small claims, some civil and child-support matters, and state traffic cases. Probate Judge records and city court matters are separate. The Fifth Judicial Circuit District Attorney serves Randolph, Chambers, Macon, and Tallapoosa counties, but prosecution records do not replace the clerk's docket. AlaCourt ACCESS or Just One Look is the paid statewide source for public Randolph County Circuit and District Court dockets. Randolph County has no free county-run trial docket search. A name search and a case-number search each cost $9.99, including one case detail. A no-match result counts as a search. District monitoring costs $19.99 and Circuit monitoring costs $29.99. - Confirm the docket belongs to Circuit or District Court rather than Probate or a city court.
- Choose a paid name search when the case number is unknown, or use the complete case number.
- Open the matching case and check court, division, parties, filing year, and current status.
- Read the case action summary in date order, then obtain a document image or certified copy when the entry alone is not enough.

No free Randolph case detail was available for inspection, so the official AlaCourt report-content list provides the reliable field inventory. Public Randolph numbers include SM 2025-900045, DV 2016-900015, and CV 2024-900100. SM, DV, and CV point to small claims, domestic, and civil divisions. Randolph County Docket Sources
No single portal covers every Randolph County docket. AlaCourt serves public state trial-court data. Probate case records use the Probate Judge's ING portal. Roanoke and Wedowee city ordinance, municipal traffic, and city misdemeanor cases may stay with the municipal court. Appeals use the Alabama Appellate Courts Public Portal for documents filed or issued on or after March 20, 2022.
- Circuit Court: felony, major civil, domestic, and other general-jurisdiction dockets through AlaCourt and the clerk.
- District Court: misdemeanor, preliminary felony, small-claims, child-support, civil, and traffic docket activity.
- Probate Court: estate, will, conservatorship, guardianship, and other probate case records through a separate portal.
- Municipal courts: local ordinance, municipal traffic, and some misdemeanor files kept at city level.
- Appellate courts: recent state appellate documents through the separate public portal.
Probate searches should begin with Probate Judge George Diamond's office, not the Circuit Clerk. The office phone is 256-357-4933 and its mailing address is P.O. Box 249, Wedowee, AL 36278. The official Randolph Probate page routes users to separate probate case and land-record searches. Adoption and mental-health matters handled by Probate Court remain restricted even though other probate docket information may be public.
Municipal venue also matters. Randolph's warrant guidance excludes misdemeanors inside the city limits of Roanoke and Wedowee from the county magistrate's stated misdemeanor jurisdiction. That local limit is a sign that a city police department or municipal court may hold the first docket for an ordinance or city misdemeanor. A failed AlaCourt name search should not be treated as proof that no municipal case exists.
Federal cases are not in AlaCourt. Randolph County belongs to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, Eastern Division, and PACER is the official federal docket system. Federal bankruptcy dockets use the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Alabama. Appeals generally move to the Eleventh Circuit. The court level and case caption are essential before paying for any search.
Randolph County Docket vs Case File
A docket is best for tracking sequence and status. The full case file is needed to read the content of motions, evidence filed as exhibits, signed orders, pleadings, or other documents. Randolph County's online service is paid for both search and images. A clerk visit may be needed when a document is not digitized, needs certification, or is only available to an authorized person.

A hearing setting is not a ruling. An entry marked dismissed may apply to one charge rather than the whole case. A financial balance does not by itself explain the sentence. Verify the signed order or judgment when accuracy matters.

Read Randolph County Court Dockets
Start with the division. CC means Circuit Criminal, DC District Criminal, TR traffic, CV civil, DV domestic, and SM small claims. Then compare the latest case status with the dated action list. A continuance moves a hearing. A motion asks the court to act. A judgment resolves issues or awards relief. A case action summary is the chronological record, not one standalone ruling.
Criminal terms require care. Bound over means a District Court matter moves toward grand-jury review after probable-cause proceedings. True bill means a grand jury found enough evidence to indict. No bill means it did not. Nolle pros records a prosecutor's dismissal after filing. Disposition is the current or final outcome. None of these terms should be inferred from an arrest or booking alone.
Civil entries need the same care. A garnishment notice can identify a debtor name, case number, notice document, written court order, and publication date without revealing the full dispute. A service return reports whether process was delivered. A default or judgment reflects a court action, while a later motion or appeal can add more entries. Domestic and PFA dockets may show that a petition, temporary order, service, or final hearing occurred while protected addresses and contact information remain hidden.
When a docket result affects a deadline, hearing, payment, or legal right, verify it with the clerk. AlaCourt setting dates can help track the case, but the signed order controls. Give the Circuit Clerk the case number, names, division, approximate year, and exact filing requested. Certified copies and older paper records may require a fee and an office visit or mail request.
Restricted Randolph County Court Dockets
Juvenile dockets are confidential under Alabama Code section 12-15-133.
The public may not see juvenile case activity that would appear in an adult docket.
